Tooth Extractions

Dental health is usually centered around keeping your natural teeth. At Dentistry of Kingwood, we strive to help our patients retain their teeth whenever possible with general dentistry to avoid the issues that can follow having a tooth extraction. However, there are times when removing a tooth is in the best interest of a patient’s health. When that is the case, we offer gentle tooth extractions in a comfortable, caring environment.

With advances in dental procedures, many teeth that would have once been extracted can now be saved. Root canal therapy is used to save many teeth that have become infected or damaged. Yet there are times when a tooth has been damaged beyond repair and must be removed to protect further damage or pain. Dr. Ghattas is experienced in tooth extraction methods, making the procedure quick and virtually painless for our patients.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the exception to the rule when it comes to extraction. While most teeth are not removed unless they are damaged or decayed, wisdom teeth are often extracted when they are brand new. It is not the health of the tooth but the problems these last molars can cause that makes them the most common tooth to be extracted. With limited room to grow, they can become impacted and grow in sideways or crooked. This can cause pain, misalignment of the existing teeth, infection and other issues.

At Dentistry of Kingwood, we understand that no one wants to undergo a tooth extraction procedure. However, we have the expertise and caring attitude to help make the procedure as stress-free and painless as possible. Whether you have a broken tooth that cannot be saved or have wisdom teeth arriving that are causing problems, we can provide you with a calm, relaxed approach to removing your problem teeth.
